Wheat Holds Gains
April 11, 2016
Local wheat supply remains tight as we move into spring, it should be mentioned that demand isn't necessarily overwhelming supply but more remaining just high enough to support strong pricing. Should this demand drop it could leave wheat vulnerable to the downside as there is a massive gap in the feed sector between wheat and barley. Elevator demand also remains firm but global margins remain thin which can make our local market unstable. As long as demand remains in the market, prices should continue to edge forward as inventories continue to tighten.
